A big shout-out to Enrique and Kira Pelayo and The Broker Team for becoming our first Soundview Spring Benefit sponsors! The Benefit is March 22nd at the Edmonds Waterfront Center. We’re thrilled to partner with one of our incredible families to help create a meaningful and memorable event. There’s still time to join in as a sponsor and support this special evening. You can learn more HERE, or reach out directly to Director of Advancement Ryan Wasserman HERE. Together, we can make this event a resounding success! Registration for the Benefit will be available next week.

Last Friday, our Board of Trustees approved Soundview’s next five-year strategic financial plan. The plan prioritizes the balance of tuition increases and rising costs, and provides for continued investment in our faculty, campus, Skills Collaborative services and more.

2025-2026 tuition is updated on our website HERE. Next week, you will receive an email from Director of Finance and Operations Hazel Estrella prompting your tuition deposit for the 2025-2026 school year. Reminder, Soundview uses a perpetual enrollment agreement and collects a deposit for the following school year every February (there are no tuition payments due in February). Payment options and details are outlined in Hazel’s email. Reach out to her with any questions HERE

On Wednesday afternoon, our Board of Trustees held the annual Soundview State of the School meeting. They reviewed their governance role, the head of school transition (including get-to-know incoming Interim Head of School Chrissy Sinclair), Soundview’s upcoming accreditation, and long-range financial planning, tuition, and strategic priorities. If you missed the meeting, the recording will be available next week.

Around the world and in different communities, January is a month of recognition and awareness:

Monday, January 27th is the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, or the International Day in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust. This is an international memorial day that commemorates the victims of the Holocaust, an event that resulted in the genocide of one third of the Jewish people, along with countless members of other minorities by Nazi Germany between 1933 and 1945. You can learn more about this HERE

Wednesday, January 29th is the Lunar New Year. This is a holiday that marks the beginning of the year on the lunisolar calendar. It's celebrated in many Asian countries and communities around the world, including China, Vietnam, and South Korea. The Lunar New Year is a celebration of the arrival of spring and the beginning of a new year. You can learn more about this HERE.

Stay warm everyone,
Chris
