Trait of the Month: Principled
Dear Soundview Family,
Big thanks to our sixth-grade students for running today’s assembly! They highlighted the January trait of the month taken from the International Baccalaureate Learner Profile: “Principled.” Our students talked about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and how he embodied the trait, “Principled.” Our sixth-graders also recognized other Soundview students for their actions and demonstrations of Soundview’s values.
There is no school on Monday, January 16, 2023 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. There is no school Tuesday, January 17, 2023 as faculty and staff will be completing first semester report cards.
The Soundview Cook Off is back for another year of incredible eats and fierce (yet friendly) competition! I've participated in the past and can attest it was a fun (and yummy) community get-together.
The Cookoff will take place on campus on Saturday, January 28 from noon through 2:00 PM.
Signup to enter a Chili, Mac-n-Cheese, or Cornbread competitions. Please note, the CORNBREAD category is open only to KIDS. To sign up for the Cook Off, click HERE.
Thanks to those of you who attended this week’s Community Coffee. We talked about our own educational experiences and the 10 Most Significant Education Studies of 2022. You can read about them HERE. We’ll look at these studies again at the next Community Coffee on February 8.
Our 2023-2024 admissions deadline is approaching. Get in touch with Director of Enrollment Management, Victoria Nunes, if you know a family who would benefit from a Soundview education. I encourage you to get in touch with Victoria and tour Soundview again for yourself. Take an hour to check out next year’s class and curriculum. Although we’re a small school, there is a lot happening and the curriculum evolves each year.
Lastly, please remember to send an email to attendance@soundview.org with notice of any absences, early dismissals, or late arrivals for Soundview students.
Enjoy the long weekend,
Chris
