It has been a successful first week of school!

September 9, 2022

Dear Soundview Family,

It has been a successful first week of school! In every class, students and teachers are getting to know each other, talking about school values, expectations, and practicing daily routines. This is what lays the foundation of an ethical, rigorous, and  compassionate learning experience. And that’s what Soundview does best!

Soundview will be at the Fair on 44th tomorrow, Saturday, September 10, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The Fair on 44th is Lynnwood’s community street fair. Come say, “Hi,” to our new Director of Enrollment Management, Victoria Nunes, and our primary years teacher, Molly Bozarth (and baby Julian). Look for the purple bus!

Next Monday, September 12th, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, is early childhood through fifth-grade Curriculum Night. Next Tuesday, September 13th, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, is sixth- through eighth-grade Curriculum Night. At Curriculum Night, you will spend time getting to know your child’s teacher, participate in a classroom activity, and learn about your student’s curriculum.  Here are the details:

  • This event is for parents and guardians only. This is not a student event.

  • There will not be enough parking in the Soundview lot. You can use the Trinity Lutheran Church parking lot just one block east of the Soundview Campus. Give yourself five to ten minutes to walk to Soundview.

  • These events are interactive. We want you to leave with a sense of what it’s like to be a Soundview student.

  • We will post the slide decks to Toddle after the Curriculum Night events.

A few notes on rolling drop-off and pick-up:

  • Please arrive only during your assigned times. If you’re early, expect staff to ask you to circle the block.

  • Please pull your vehicle as far forward as possible before your student unloads.

  • Please stay in your car. If you have an errand at the school, please come back after 8:45 AM.

  • Please make a right turn out of the exit. Left turns during busy times can really back up the line. It’s very easy to circle back east.

Remember to sign up for after school classes and care. Click HERE for more information. If you have any questions, contact Christine Taylor for information about grades one through eight and Sara Smart for early childhood through kindergarten.

Thank you for all your support,

Chris
