NWAIS, Enrollment Agreements, and the Fifteenth Amendment
Dear Soundview Family,
We have some very important news to share with our Soundview community. Soundview School has entered the candidacy phase for the Northwest Association of Independent Schools (NWAIS). We are one step closer to being fully accredited by the NWAIS! We received our notification on February 1, 2023. This comes after years of hard work by the entire administration team, but a special note of thanks goes out to Chrissy Sinclair, Assistant Head of School. This would not have happened without her hard work and dedication. You can learn more about the benefits of accreditation to students and families HERE.
Please check your email and your spam folders. Today, you should receive two Soundview emails from Soundview School <hestrella@soundview.org> with the subject line Soundview School Enrollment Agreement generated by Hazel Estrella. When you receive these emails, please add your e-signature to the enrollment agreement. Then, make your deposit for the 2023-2024 school year with the link provided in the second email. If you have any questions, please contact Hazel at hestrella@soundview.org or (425) 778-8572.
With regret, the upcoming Soundview Winter Band Concert is on hold due to COVID and the advice of Snohomish Health District. We are in the process of reimagining this performance and will let you know as soon as possible. We are determined to make sure our musicians have a chance to perform for their entire community.
We just launched an after school homework club. This is a great opportunity for any registered Soundview student. Sign up HERE.
Next Wednesday, we will host a Community Coffee in the Performing Arts Center at 9:10 AM. I will have an update on our board’s strategic planning process and look forward to continuing the conversation about the most significant educational studies and trends from 2022.
Tickets to the Soundview Gala 2023 are available now. Please support this very important event by reserving your spot early. Click HERE.
Be well,
Chris

One more thing…
On this day in 1870, the Fifteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution was ratified guaranteeing the right to vote regardless of race and intending to ensure, with the Fourteenth Amendment, the civil rights of former slaves. Read more HERE.
