Black History, a Concert, and More!
Dear Soundview Family,
Soundview School is honored to celebrate Black History Month. All of our class curriculum has made particular mention of the importance of Black History Month, itself, the conflict that makes Black History necessary, and some of the individuals who have made invaluable contributions to our shared culture.
We’re excited to announce the updated concert date! Our fifth- through eighth- grade concert bands and orchestra will perform in our Performing Arts Center next Thursday, February 16 from 4:30 to 5:30 PM. Performers have received more detailed information about their schedules from Mrs. Higgins and Ms. Christine. Please note, all other after-school activities are canceled for next Thursday to accommodate the concert. There is after care available as usual.
A big thank you to everyone who has registered for the Soundview Gala 2023! We are very grateful for your early support. This is a ticketed event. Tickets may be purchased HERE. Childcare is available for the evening of the gala. Information on childcare is available HERE.
First semester report cards will be available to you next week via Toddle. If you have any questions about accessing them through Toddle, contact Chrissy Sinclair at csinclair@soundview.org.
Very important: both parents (when applicable) must sign the 2023-2024 enrollment agreement sent February 3 (subject line “Soundview School Enrollment Agreement”). Once the agreement is signed, click the link in the second email sent the same day (subject line “Invoice from Soundview School”) that reads "Go To Invoice." We must receive your deposit for next year’s tuition by midnight, Friday February 10, 2023. Deposits received after midnight, Friday February 10, 2023 will incur a $150 late fee per student.
There is no school February 20 through February 24 for mid-winter break. School resumes on Monday, February 27, 2023. We’re looking forward to a great holiday!
Have a great weekend,
Chris

One more thing…
Black History Month is part of American culture. The Library of Congress, National Archives and Records Administration, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Gallery of Art, National Park Service, Smithsonian Institution and United States Holocaust Memorial Museum join in paying tribute to the generations of African Americans who struggled with adversity to achieve full citizenship in American society.
