Dear Soundview Family,
Some important information for the coming weeks and the coming school year:
Our first- and second-grade teacher, Ms. Molly, is on parental leave starting April 25th. Ms. Lindsey Zalewski will be teaching her classes, and Ms. Nani will be helping in kindergarten for Ms. Lindsey.
Last Sunday, the Spanish Language School, which provides staffing for our Spanish language program, informed us that Senora Alexandra would no longer be available. We have begun a job search for her replacement. In the meantime, we are very glad to welcome retired Soundview librarian and designer of Soundview’s Spanish language curriculum, Valerie Stein, back to the campus as an interim instructor. Ms. Stein will be teaching some of the classes, while other classes will use a Spanish language curriculum designed to be implemented by non-native speakers.
Starting next Monday, April 18, masks are no longer required indoors on the Soundview campus. Soundview’s COVID response is evolving. For more information, see the link HERE. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has additional information HERE.
Please welcome Teresa Ledford as Soundview’s first Skills Collaborative Coordinator. Teresa has over 20 years of experience in middle school, neurodiversity and learning support, non-profit organizations, as well as teacher and parent coaching. She will begin her work with Soundview this June. Skills Collaborative is a new, fee-based program to support neurodiverse learners. To learn more, contact Matt Stenovec.
All of the Soundview faculty will be here next school year. We retained 100% of our teachers. Still, Soundview is hiring additional staff to support a growing middle school. If you know passionate educators, please put them in contact with us at employment@soundview.org.
Spring is on its way and so is the Soundview Gala! Don’t forget to register. More information can be found HERE.
All the very best to you and your families,
Chris
